In the theme of environmental responsibility, I'd like to drop a quick note about something I feel passionate about: living a car-free life. Those who know me well, may say, "hey man, you're just broke, that's no excuse for not owning a car". But I believe that if you live in a half-way decent city/neighbourhood, you should be able to walk to everything you need. There is a lot to be said about the car-free life. Environmentally it's a step ahead, but also think about the stresses of commuting: the noise, smog, traffic, tickets. You're better off without it. But in the odd event that you need wheels, what do you do?

Enter Zip Car car sharing. It rocks. I use a car whenever I need one, and when I don't need a car I don't pay for owning one. No parking fees, no insurance, no oil changes, no hassle of owning a car. The coolest part is that when I travel to virtually any major city in the USA, Canada, or the UK there is a Zip Car waiting for me there. And they have some pretty sweet rides, too. They also have everything from a mini to a truck so you can pick whatever vehicle you need at the time. And when you're done driving, it's some one else's problem.
